Hey y’all- I’m Nikki! I’m a 29-year-old Nutrition & Dietetics student at The University of Arizona, in Tucson, Arizona, as well as Editor, and Health & Nutrition contributor for Travel Pass Magazine. As a single student living on a budget- who also LOVES to travel AND eat well- finding good-quality food can be a challenge. I know what you’re thinking, and no, I’m not a paid sponsor for Thrive Market (I wish they’d pay me!); I just love having good, affordable food shipped to my doorstep! As a nutrition enthusiast I spend a good deal of time planning meals that are healthy, cheap (because: TRAVEL, duh!), and also convenient (because I’d rather spend my time and energy planning my next trip).

I found Thrive on a fluke while scrolling through Facebook one day, and my grocery shopping has never been the same! Thrive is an online health-food store, offering non-perishable grocery (as well as beauty and health items) at 40-75% less than retail price. I’ve spent tons of money buying my groceries at Whole Foods or Sprouts for most of my adult life, and can attest that the discounts shown by Thrive are genuine discounts; the same can of black beans or box or granola you’d normally buy at your local health-food store will cost you half as much on Thrive. Eating healthy food when you’re trying to pinch all your pennies for your next trip might sound impossible, but, trust me, it’s not as difficult as you may think.

All you have to do is go to their website- or better yet, download the app- create an account, place your order, and voila, your groceries show up at your doorstep all neatly boxed up! There is a $59.95/year membership fee- much like Costco (my other addiction)- but the membership more than pays for itself (for me, in just my first order). In fact, I’ve saved over $700 shopping with them just this year. Your order arrives within a week in their tell-tale “Thrive” boxes (which are awesome for moving, by the way), packed securely for shipping, including a detailed order invoice, so you know you got all the items you ordered.

They sell everything! Literally, everything! From canned soup, beans, spices, cereal, snacks, coconut oil and nuts, to sunscreen, shampoo and conditioner, pet and baby goods, and yoga mats, chances are you can find it on Thrive. Plus, it’s all good-quality, organic stuff and their packaging is made from post-consumer recycled materials.

If you’re busy and want to eat healthy, but also want to save your extra dollars for something more fun (like a trip to someplace new), then you might want to check out Thrive too!
